The Headquarters for Earthquake Research Promotion (HERP)
HERP is a special governmental organization belonging to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. It was established in order to clarify the systems of responsibility regarding earthquake research that is directly connected to government policy. It manages this in an integrated fashion with a governmental capacity.
Geo-Station
Geo-Station is a portal site of Integrated Geophysical and Geological Information Database constructed by NIED (head of this project), National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Public Works Research Institute (PWRI), and Japanese Geotechnical Society (JGS).
Strong-motion Seismograph Networks (K-NET、KiK-net)
K-NET and KiK-net are strong-motion seismograph networks operated by NIED. Observed data are used for many researches such as seismic hazard and risk assessment.
Japan Tsunami Hazard Information Station (J-THIS)
J-THIS is a website to see detail of “Probabilistic Tsunami hazard assessment of Nankai Trough” evaluated by HERP.
